Maria Loks stars in an exclusive film celebrating The Outnet's Iris & Ink collection
Within a shifting urban landscape, model Maria Loks gazes back from the reflective surfaces of surveillance cameras and cars, greenhouse windows and lift mirrors. In Laurence Ellis’s enigmatic short, made in partnership with THE OUTNET.COM to celebrate the release of their Iris & Ink collection, Loks takes on the creative impetus of her own portrayal. Wielding the camera herself, we trail her on a journey through London; clad in highlights from the latest Iris & Ink collection.
A truly collaborative effort, the film was inspired and created by the chemistry between model, filmmaker, the collection and stylist – AnOther's fashion editor Agata Belcen. Says the latter, “everything followed from putting together Maria’s intriguing character with Lawrence’s beautiful way of seeing.” The result is a film at once quiet yet intensely resonant – “Reflective. Chic. Composed. Sensitive,” sums up Belcen, adding, “My favourite outfit is the very soft white jumper tucked into the patent leather skirt. It’s very sensual and chic.”
