Damir Doma: “The collection was all about finding the new spirituality. Orange/yellow have a similar meaning as white in our culture. The whole collection was built around the waist, which is the core of each construction this season. I wanted to create a really feminine silhouette. A strong woman!”

The rich orange hues from the robes of Buddhist monks have provided Damir Doma with inspiration for S/S11. Monks traditionally try to achieve a spiritually enriching life through simple means; they shave their heads to signify the renunciation of worldly things and wear a simplified “uniform” showing their lack of need for complex ideologies and possessions in society. The colour is of extreme importance – it reflects the colour of the sun, radiating happiness and optimism, components found in Damir Doma’s new collection.
