From Brigitte Bardot in a pair of custom-made red ballet pumps to Serge Gainsbourg in a set of white Zizi lace-ups, Repetto have long reigned champion of the Ballerina flat.

Created in 1947, their charming slipper-shoes have become synonymous with Parisian style, offering a sophisticated flat alternative to the stiletto and becoming the original faithfully-kicked pump in their old age. They also carry with them the legacy of French Ballet, with each shoe embodying a glimmer of the bewitching imagination of the prestigious movement. From the history of King Louis XIV and his ballet enthusiasm and Pierre Beauchamps’ strict technique, to the multiple tales of mystery, love, tragedy and defiance told through dance, each Repetto step is weighted with sentiment.

This autumn Repetto launch their first ready-to-wear line, in collaboration with designer Emilie Luc-Duc and the French Ballet. The collection includes tie-back tops with a nod to corsetry, worn with voluminous skirts in a colour palette ranging from powder pastels to neon brights.
