Loewe Barroco bag

For AnOther's latest Object of Desire, animator Yoonah Nam transported Loewe’s Barroco bag into an enchanted forest of curiosities, inspired by the contrasting light and shade of the leather...

Inspired by baroque Spanish architecture, Loewe’s leather accessory line Barroco is a dark palette of soft embossment. Florid designs raised and depressed into Nappa leather are reminiscent of a spindling Gothic sculpture or an 18th century Spanish façade.

Inspired by the contrasting light and shade of the leather, animator Yoonah Nam transported the bag into an enchanted forest of curiosities. The intricate embossment comes alive in the form of spanning wings and antlers, weaving between trees like a story told on an ornamental turret in Renaissance Spain. Here AnOther speak to Nam about the dark fairytale woven from the leather.

What is the story told in the film?
The film describes a dark, silent night and a forest filled with creatures who break the silence with their ghostly movements. The story ends when a mysterious light appears and turns them entirely white.

"The film describes a dark, silent night and a forest filled with creatures who break the silence with their ghostly movements."

What linked you to the forest and nature?
It’s hard for me to access nature from where I live [South Korea], but it has always been a great source of inspiration. The forest has long been a very attractive and curious place to visit whenever I’ve wished I could get out of the city.
