Marianne Faithfull is famed for that deep, husky Gauloise-inflected voice that has given her numerous top 40 records and iconic status. She has received a similar level of attention for her hedonistic lifestyle, when early success as a Euro-waif pop singer in the 60s coincided with her notorious and well-chronicled relationship with Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger. After long battles with drug addiction, she is clean and stronger than ever, a muse to admirers decades younger than her. Last year she released a studio album of cover versions, Easy Come, Easy Go, featuring guest appearances from a variety of renowned musicians including Nick Cave, Rufus Wainwright, Cat Power and her old buddy Keith Richards. At 63, Faithfull holds her age with grace and continues to act and perform: she recently finished a tour and is currently working on the upcoming horror-thriller film Faces in the Crowd, alongside Milla Jovovich.
