This week sees a series of special events traversing the arts. Designer Gareth Pugh talks with Jefferson Hack in the last of Dazed & Confused’s Meet The Designers series, Anish Kapoor’s new project with the Serpentine Gallery is unveiled, one of the best Japanese restaurants in London, Sake no Hana, reveals its new chef and relaunch, Palais de Tokyo fetes Paris’s Nuit Blanche in an epic evening of artistic celebration, and Brighton’s 2010 Photo Biennial opens.

Monday September 27 – Anish Kapoor at The Serpentine Gallery, London
Throughout the autumn The Serpentine Gallery and The Royal Parks presents a major series of outdoor installations by Turner prize-winning artist Anish Kapoor. Entitled Turning the World Upside Down, Kapoor’s giant curved structures invert and play with illusions of the landscape, interacting with their natural surroundings.

Tuesday September 28 – Sake no Hana Relaunch Event, London
New Head Chef Daisuke Hayashi comes to West End super-restaurant Sake no Hana with an enticing new menu. The restaurant's Kengo Kuma design has been given some tweaks, including the addition of an elegant sushi bar. The site of AnOther Issue 19’s London launch presents its new face this Tuesday evening.

Saturday October 2 – Dazed & Confused, Meet The Designers, Paris
Jefferson Hack in conversation with Gareth Pugh. The inventive young English designer has caused a real stir since winning the 2008 ANDAM fashion award. He meets with Jefferson Hack in the third of Dazed & Confused’s series of talks to speak about his inspirations and work.

Saturday October 2 – Palais de Tokyo Nuit Blanche, Paris
Palais de Tokyo’s Pavilion holds reign over nocturnal activities as part of Paris’s Nuit Blanche. Remaining open until 4am the Palais will offer up a programme of video art, architecture, and much more!

Saturday October 2 – Brighton Photo Biennial, Brighton
This year Brighton Photo Biennial brings together commissioned photography work, new documentary footage, archive work and historical collections, as well as a series of talks over the opening weekend. With the South Eastern seaside retreat as its home, the Biennial is entitled New Documents. Curated by Martin Parr, it runs until mid November.
