Known for its understated glamour and minimalism, Calvin Klein kept up this reputation for its S/S11 show on day eight of New York fashion week. Using a spectrum of whites that included, “chalk, pearl, straw and vellum,” there was a concentration on cut, fit and proportion, keeping simplicity as key. A loose and boxy silhouette hung perfectly on the runway models and, although clean and sophisticated, the collection still remained sensual and sexy. Black also made a feature with highlights of deep blue and burnt orange adorning architectural shifts. This is an appealing collection from designer Francisco Costa that guarantees the brand a position at the forefront of spring fashion.
