Present & Correct collates the best examples of fireworks in art

Today is Bonfire Night in the UK, so we are celebrating the nefarious antics of the Gunpowder Plotters with a creative take on fireworks. Stand well back.

Everyone loves sparklers, it’s a simple fact. Alwin Lay has created one that never goes out! Amazing. The only downside is that you can't write your name with it.

In his series Boom City, Andrew Waits sliced fireworks in half, the results are almost as pretty as the final ignition.

Explosive contents seem redundant when their wrappers are as bright as these beauties. Old, mainly 70s and 80s, firework papers can be found in abundance right here, sunglasses recommended.

Swiss artist Olaf Breuning installed multiple fireworks onto simple frames and let them off at the same time, to beautiful effect.

If ever there was a medium made for painting fireworks it is the airbrush. Samantha Fields has perfected the art with her large canvases of rockets, explosions and glitter.

The wonderful group We Make Carpets do just that, out of all sorts of everyday materials. This is their carpet made from fireworks, and here you can see it in action!
