We consider the vibrant and eclectic prints that made up Paris fashion week

From Junya Watanabe’s galactic, kaleidoscope colours to Louis Vuitton’s otherworldly rich velvet, Paris Fashion Week was an ornate tapestry of fabrics, referencing Shakespeare and folklore, alongside the Japanese influences that trickled through menswear earlier this year (see Alexander McQueen). Lanvin celebrated its 125th anniversary with a unique cast dressed in sumptuous brocade, while Givenchy's sexually-charged collection featured grommeted lacing and studded leather. Patchwork chiffon and seventies denim continued on from Milan, interlaced with a Parisian surrealist charm. Here, we consider our favourite textiles from the collections.
