AnOther considers the Marc Jacobs S/S15 collection, styled by Alister Mackie

For S/S15, Marc Jacobs takes us on a dreamy summer holiday through retro America. "It was a feeling of 'evening all day long' and the idea of Palm Beach and Beverly Hills seen through a 1930s or 1970s soft lens,” explains Karl Aberg, menswear design director for Marc Jacobs. “
We also looked at some of David Bailey's old photos of Anjelica Huston and friends as well as a couple of old favorite summertime movies: Permanent Vacation, The Flamingo Kid, The Talented Mr Ripley.”

The influence of Jim Jarmusch's cult classic ripples throughout the collection’s blue and pink colour palette, while The Flamingo Kid is translated in its most literal representation, with pink flamingos emblazoned on the back of bomber jackets and repeated across shirts, ties and brooch pins. Other key pieces include double-breasted tailored jackets and wide-cuffed trousers, worn with striped socks, printed ties, satin slippers and silk sandals, styled by AnOther Man’s Creative Director Alister Mackie. "My favourite pieces were the palm print silk pyjamas," says Mackie. "There was also a beautiful baby blue suit which was worn with a pyjama shirt bound in white silk." As with any Marc Jacobs collection, there is a camp air of fun amongst the clothes. “We were inspired by eveningwear dinner jackets," Agberg says. "We wanted to work with a rich ivory and deep black base. It was a very collaborative and fun process and one thing led to the next.”
