This Happy Monday we bring you a curious and hilarious series of photographs by Erwan Fichou, depicting people standing in topiary trees

This Happy Monday we're reveling in the absurd in the form of these photographs of figures standing – with no apparent purpose whatsoever – in topiary trees. Entitled Miradors, the series is the work of French photographer Erwan Fichou who had the idea when he saw a man lingering in a tree that had the "perfect shape of an UFO" while walking around Mexico City. Three years later he received an artist's residency in the city and set about recreating versions of the event, inviting passers-by to clamber into similarly pruned shrubs for a photograph. The results are both brilliant and baffling, and above all certain to raise a smile.

Happy Monday! #anotherhappymonday
