Countless artists have used a sketchbook to document their travels, from JMW Turner to David Hockney. Inspired by the the artist's treasured sketchbook, Louis Vuitton have launched a series of travel journals focusing on four locations – Easter Island, London, Paris and New York, where each city is illustrated with over 100 works by artists Daniel Arsham, Natsko Seki, Chéri Samba and Jean-Philippe Delhomme.

Japanese illustrator Natso Seki, who illustrated the London book, has lived in London since 2001. Her handrawn illustrations are combined with computer animations and incorporate landmarks such as the much-loved floating bookstore on Regent's Canal. "It was as if I was creating a 3D image of London", explains Seki about her commission, "I chose places that show the spirit of the capital." American artist Daniel Arsham is known for his gouache works. His depictions of Easter Island include the iconic stone statues and a surfer riding a wave. Parisian painter and illustrator Jean-Phillippe Delhomme, who creates colourful works, often with gouache, presents a New York street sale, a tyre store and a busy pedestrian crossing, while celebrated Congolese artist Chéri Samba has created lively depictions of Paris.

As well as featuring in the "Travel Book" collection, the artworks have been aquired by Louis Vuitton for its collection of contemporary art.
