Ryan Gosling can do no wrong, hence the epic victory of this Gosling focused colouring book, chosen by freelance writer and AnOther Loves contributor Rebecca Guinness...

It was always inevitable that at some point a Ryan Gosling themed post would take the top spot on AnOther Loves. His roles – ranging from the impoverished country boy who runs the gamut of violence, rejection and dementia in his love affair with a Southern heiress to the near silent Driver in a silk bomber jacket – have garnered him accolades from the film industry and the universal adulation of half the world’s population, a situation only cemented by a YouTube clip of him, in Breton striped tank top and a baseball hat, breaking up a fight in New York. The man can do no wrong, hence the epic victory of this Gosling colouring book, chosen by freelance writer and AnOther Loves contributor Rebecca Guinness.

“Hey girl, women make up 51 per cent of the US population and only 17 per cent of the government, but you're the commander in chief of my heart.”

Guinness herself is a professed Gosling cynic, eyeing up the worldwide swoon he engenders with confusion. For some, his charms seem obvious – take his lissom way with a ukulele in Blue Valentine, rescuing a British journalist about to be run over by a taxi and soundbites such as, “God bless The Notebook, but people do Rachel (McAdams) and me a disservice by assuming we were anything like the people in that movie. Rachel and my love story is a hell of a lot more romantic than that.” And now the Gosling legend has left the realm of reality and moved into a space all of its own, with tumblrs such as Fuck Yeah! Ryan Gosling and Feminist Ryan Gosling taking pictures of the puppy eyed star and partnering them with captions expounding his imagined politically progressive views: “Hey girl, women make up 51 per cent of the US population and only 17 per cent of the government, but you're the commander in chief of my heart.” In a Hollywood riven with machismo and posturing, Gosling represents a softer, wittier and more understanding side of masculinity, one that it seems nearly all women are wooed by. But, as she stands aloof from the otherwise besotted population, here we speak to the still resolute Guinness about her resistance to the trend and where she would like to add a dash of colour.
