A celebration of our favourite stationery in art for National Stationery Week

Since it is currently National Stationery Week we thought we would celebrate our favourite subject and how it has permeated the art world. Here are four great artists who all love an office sundry.

Canadian artist Kristine Lahde does wonderful things with rulers & tape measures but mainly we are in love with her intricately cut envelopes. Everyday waste becomes delicate and beautiful.

Pop art legend Claes Oldenburg has been making sculptures of oversized objects for many years, his stationery collection obviously tickles our fancy.

Of all artists working in the medium of stationery, Marcius Galan is our favourite. Erasers in frames, meticulously placed drawing pins and patterns of office stickers make us very happy indeed.

Omar Sosa, stylist for Apartamento, took some ordinary rolls of tape and turned them into miniature sculptures. Pleasing shapes & brilliant palettes.
