The Put Your Paws Up Tumblr was started by blogger and AnOther Lover Franny Zywicki in March 2010. It is a reflection of all her favourite things – love, cats, sunshine, beaches, babes – her enthusiasm for which, paired with her astute eye for curation, is entirely infectious. "I like to think each image either makes you want something good or reminds you of something good," Zywicki states. We think they do too, so here we bring you a selection of some of our favourites, and speak to Zywicki about what inspired her to start Put Your Paws Up and her image selection process.

What do you do aside from Put Your Paws Up (PYPU)?
In the past 2 years I've lived in LA, Madrid and London and I was producing, creative assisting and creative directing as a freelancer on music videos, fashion films and shoots. I am currently working at VICE magazine in digital marketing, making friends with loads of bloggers. It’s a ball. I’d love to just image hunt all day, and create moodboards.

When did you decided to start the Tumblr and why?
3 years ago Facebook was boring and the only thing I loved it for was looking at pictures. I used to love images of megababes. Cats. Even coffees, you know, like the dream breakfast. And I used to constantly change my facebook profile, about 3 times a day, just to show people these images that I was finding. So one day I was like, how about I annoy everyone once a day with a post on my facebook to a Tumblr page of my favourite images? And voilà – a super sexy, cat inspired sun in the blogging solar system was created.

How would you define your aesthetic? What are the key criteria for the images you post?
I get sent hundreds of pictures and the first dependent factor is how long I look at the picture for. Some bums are just bums – other bums are like, wow, that bum is perfect, and I want it, and I want to have that bum in those panties, on that beach, with that man. Second is the theme. If I am in certain moods, I blog to that effect – love, sex, summer loving. If it’s an especially “naughty” day you can really tell, and I try to get all my readers in the same frame of mind – women or men. I think feeling sexy is super important.

Cats feature a lot on PYPU– what do you love about cats? Do you have a cat yourself?
I love all felines. They have beautiful symmetry, beautiful eyes, they walk like they own the place and their fur feels insane against skin. My rising sign is a Leo and I guess this could be another reason. I don’t have a cat because I am never home and I would be the worst.

PYPU also features a lot of babes. Who in your opinion is the ultimate beauty?
I think Eva Mendes is unreal: lips, cheekbones, legs, man on her arm – she has nailed it. And she has cat features.

What’s your favourite source for great images?
I guess it has to be my favourite photographers – which is a mixture of sites – but Cass Bird in particular I love. And then, when I'm not sourcing from those or Tumblr, I’ll do key word searches likes “classy naked” – sometimes I get some unfortunate results.

Do you have a favourite inspirational quote about love/life? Or a motto that you live by?
I have “laughter is an instant vacation” tattooed on my rib, which is a quote by Milton Kerle. I couldn’t agree more: I think it’s awesome. And then the next best quote, which is more a life motto: “Look like a girl, act like a lady, think like a man, work like a boss.”

What is your ideal holiday destination?
I am lucky enough to holiday a lot. And I have to say Rio will always win for me. It is beautiful. I stay on Ipanema. The beach is amazing; the people are amazing; the towns close by are amazing. And it's so damn sexy! I do want to visit Middle America also though – just to see if it is like the movies. I’d love to just hang in Kentucky.
