We live in an age where we are bombarded with information. What have I missed on Twitter/Instagram? Why are there always so many events listed on my Facebook page? Did I reply to that last text message/email/voicemail... It can be a little overwhelming to say the least. "The monotony and solitude of a quiet life stimulates the creative mind", Albert Einstein once said.

Inspired by the increased "noise" in the world, Selfridges have dreamt up a clever intitative encouraging us to celebrate the power of quiet. It's a intriguing contradiction: brought to us by one of the world's busiest department stores, No Noise encourages reflection, peacefulness and a momentary escape from the hectic energy of modern living. For the first time ever, Selfridges will de-brand its iconic yellow bag. There is a reimagined take on the peaceful retreat that was introduced by founder Harry Gordon Selfridge in 1909, the Silence Room, situated on the department store's ground floor. And the Quiet Shop sees a refreshing selection of carefully procured "Quiet" products – from Maison Martin Margiela and Jil Sander to pots of Marmite and piles of Post-its.

As a mark of our appreciation, AnOther selected their favourite products and invited photographer Michael Bodiam to create an exclusive series of No Noise still lives.
